Mr

A-ma-zing! The whole experience was a fantastic, and almost surreal, journey between quiet parts from a grand piano to very experimental parts with drum machines and synths. Just WOW. The small stories and interaction with the audience between the pieces were also great. Please come back to Stockholm soon. :)

It was an unforgettable night.

Finding the words to describe its impact and impression is difficult. But it was wonderful and special and I am very happy to have experienced your talent live. Thank you.

Moving and inspiring

It was so moving and inspiring to experience your improvisation process accompanied with your transparency and beautiful stories in between. Thank you very much for your music, your candid performance and sharing your forest project. It was so much different and immersive than listening to your music at home.

Meditative and majestic!

It was a great show - full of energy and creativity. Every song was a meditative and majestic journey. The icing on the cake was the fun and interesting talk in between songs. Lovely to have seen you at your first visit in Stockholm!

Something in between

So, i will start with thanking social media algorithms for suggesting listening to Martin Kohlstedt. If im not mistaken, it was probably due to me listening to another great creative artist in Nils Frahm. I go to a lot of live shows, at least a couple/month. I wouldnt call myself a seasoned veteran, but i have some experience in that area (whatever that means), so even if you never should compared artists and live gigs, its kind of hard not to. And for me, the concert i experienced was one of my strongest live experiences EVER. I dont use these kind of words easily, you should know. So, what can be said about Martins performance in Sweden? To be honest, i didnt know what to expect. I had listened to some of his work on Spotify, and although that music leaves you with a lot of emotions, it can not be compared with the live version. And also, since Martin improvises all his live performances, its not like a "regular" artist where you can listen to the songs and then "follow" them on the live set. So it felt like you joined a journey which you where a part of the creative process, and depending on the energy, feelings, the unspoken communication between the artist and the audience, it could take different paths. The path i had the privilige to be part of is something that have made a very deep impact on me. I felt like i was given/shown a message, maybe it was from the universe, gaia, mother nature, call it what you want. Do i read in to much in it you might say? Well, thats the beauty of music, a creative process and the human mind! It takes you to places you didnt think was possible, opening up emotions from your inner depht. Your soul intervene with your mind and vice versa, creating a feeling of connection with something meaningful. Its amazing how some instruments and sound can have that affect on you! The music it self then? From the meditative healing songs, to the playful and kind of minimalistic electro ones, it felt like a groundbreaking set where we were guests in the beauty that is Martins experimental mode. It was an honour to be a part of someones (probably) most vulnerable and honest expressions. So to some more practical wishes if possible: It would be awesome if there was like a steady cam filming Martin from above, connected to a projector that we as audience could see on a screen. I think that the people who was at the concert would look back and say; remember when we saw Martin Kohlstedt at Hörsalen in Kulturhuset which only takes 450 seats? An intimate show where we were blessed to be part of something amazing and special? Because im sure, and hope, that more people will be able to see Martin perform live, and if he wants to perform for bigger audiences, just put a zero next to amount of seats and it will probably get sold out again, like this show. Thank you Martin for making an impact on me with the beauty and art of music. Till next time. /Pezhman
